WHAT WE DO
Engineered Environment provide Technical Advisor services for Mechanical and Electrical systems, general preliminary construction advice, condition and Retrofit surveys, energy surveys, feasibility studies and cost analysis of proposed works, tendering arrangements, CDM Advice, detailed designs and specifications, Local Authority Approvals and project management of contractors to final completion.
Client supervisor / Technical advisor
Working collaboratively with us means that you receive everything in writing, notably documented site inspection reports for distribution to contractors and contract administrators. We organise regular meetings with all involved parties, providing insightful advice regarding quality, design, programme updates, and cost.
As your project nears completion, we produce meticulously crafted snagging sheets, as well as officially witnessing the commissioning and sign-off of the critical life safety systems. We also certify the MEP services as complete, and thoroughly check the accuracy of drawings and manuals before they are bound into Health and Safety files.
Building Services Design
We design efficient building services systems including detailed mechanical, electrical and public health plus life safety system performance specification.
Our detailed designs utilise a range of technologies and design aids, including Revit BIM models and dynamic thermal modelling.

Energy & Environment
Our abilities in Building Physics allow for creation of sophisticated computer models to undertake performance testing and optimise spaces. This is an essential tool which – if embraced by all involved in the design process – results in high-performing buildings.

Feasibility Studies &
Business Cases
Engineered Environment can help building owners make informed decisions on when and how to replace systems, based on a thorough study of the existing infrastructure and building requirements.
-
Establish whether the project is viable.
-
Help identify a range of feasible options.
-
The likelihood and ease of obtaining planning permission.
-
The likelihood that an environmental impact assessment will be required.
-
Other legal/statutory approvals that might be required
-
Analysis of the budget relative to client requirements
-
Assessment of the potential to utilise existing plant
-
Assessment of any existing technical information that is available
-
Assessing operational and maintenance issues
-
Appraisal of servicing strategies
-
Procurement
Turnkey Packages
Through our partnerships with other architectural, structural, environmental and planning consultancies, we are able to offer a turn key design and management solution. A single point contact between the management teams controlling the employers requirements.
The risk mitigating option allows for better co-ordination of all building interfaces.
Reporting
Fundamental to any survey is the quality of information communicated back to the client.
Following any intrusive survey, we provide detailed independent reports to cover the findings including;
-
Executive summary covering any evidence of key issues and defects
-
Detailed description of the installed plant and systems
-
Clearly detailed performance data with commissioning documentation
-
Limitations and obstructions that affect the scope of the inspection
-
Photographs of defects with problems specifically highlighted
-
A clear summary that provides the ability to prioritise remedial actions
-
Recommendations for further inspections where applicable
-
A full list of accessible and inaccessible areas
-
Appendices include test results and marked up drawings
System validations
We offer comprehensive and detailed validation surveys that assess a building's operational performance against its original design strategy indicating the potential life expectancy of plant and systems or to validate shell and core system performance prior to a category B fit out. Our M&E surveys can include the isolation of mechanical plant and electrical circuits for detailed inspections/tests.
Pre-aquisition condition surveys
Conducted by our chartered services engineers, our survey reports cover all external and internal services. We will advise upon the condition of the plant, infrastructure and ancillaries, lifecycle costs, advice on refurbishment or improvements and repairing obligations.
Our Pre-Acquisition Survey service also includes:
-
Advice on statutory compliance matters
-
A review of all relevant technical documentation including maintenance records
-
Arranging for any follow up reports required by specialists
-
Consideration of potential dilapidations
-
Liaising with solicitors, agents and other advisers involved in the transaction
